Parth Student Ventures aims to become Nepal’s first student-led startup ecosystem enabler actively intersecting with such student founders to help them turn their dream into reality while also helping students understand and experience the working of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The mission of PSV is to not only bridge that gap for Nepali student founders with stake-free, grant-seed investments ranging from NRs 10k-100k allowing them to build and validate their ideas but also educate them well to connect with potential investors for follow-up funding.
 

 

While we do understand that this is a voluntary role and might seem a little too daunting, we promise you that you will be equipped with all relevant skills/knowledge prior to operations. There will be a comprehensive training program that will walk you through the working of all the open roles. After the training program, we expect you to dedicate around 2-3 hours per week on the lower end to around 6-8 hours per week on the higher end.
 

 

Being a voluntary position, we have made an effort to ensure that this engagement will be a learning/exploring experience with a higher return curve. In addition to being the team member of Nepal’s first student-led, startup ecosystem enabler, you can expect to get the following:
 

 

  • A well-curated, month-long training program to help you understand the nitty-gritty of the entrepreneurial ecosystem along with terminologies and working process
  • Access to a curated VC handbook
  • An immersive experience of leading and being part of an investment process in a student-led ecosystem enabler with processes including, but not limited to, sourcing, diligence, investment, founders’ support, follow-up, founders’ call, and so on
  • Access to be part of PSV’s multiple team-building activities with national and international mentors
  • A chance to closely witness, understand, and contribute to an initiative setting foundations for a flourishing future
  • A chance to engage in Nepal-focused research, analysis, and case studies in entrepreneurship and investment
  • A chance to work on cross-regional projects in collaboration with entities within and outside of Nepal
  • Access to a wide network of national and international investment firms, investors, entrepreneurs, and changemakers
  • A chance to be a team member of an inclusive, fun-loving, open-minded, and progressive enthusiasts

Available Roles and Teams

Investment Associates

The Investment associates working with the investment team will serve as the core members for sourcing startups/ideas, doing startup diligence, making investment decisions, and following up with fellow co-founders along with networking and establishing . The team members in the investment team can expect the following:

  1. Sourcing early stage startups/ideas through physical events, media interaction, networking, or through collaborations with relevant entities 
  2. Meet co-founders to understand their startup/idea and make notes for further discussions
  3. Perform diligence to understand the market, future possibilities, market timing, and the prospects of the applied startup/idea 
  4. Reach out to potential schools/colleges for educational sessions/network building and branding PSV among student entrepreneurs
  5. Make investment decisions to make maximum possible impact 
  6. Follow up on invested startups/ideas and possible investable ideas 
  7. Provide access to available resources to co-founders

Special Projects Associates

The Special Projects associates working with the special projects team will serve as the core members for working on educational outreach, research and analysis, case studies, and Nepal-focused curriculum design.The team members in the special projects team can expect the following:

  1. Helping the diligence team with any market/other data they might require
  2. Carry out research to gather data/information on a project basis 
  3. Reach out to possible stakeholders to develop case studies 
  4. Run research/case studies with an active collaboration with national/international entities 

  

Note: Though students from A levels or BBA with concentrations in Economics are preferred, students from all backgrounds are encouraged and welcomed to apply.  

Content Creator / Graphic Designer (1 each)

The content creator and graphic designer will work with the tech and design team and are together expected to oversee the branding alignment, content strategy along with technical and design aspects of PSV as an entity. The individuals can expect the following:

  1. Help manage the design and content aspects of PSV in various medias including website, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram
  2. Help designing social media posts, posters, and other relevant promotional/informational materials 
  3. Help designing posters, pamphlets, banners for PSV-led events such as college outreach, speaker series, and so on
  4. Work closely with various teams to meet any tech/design and/pr content requirements, if required 
  5. Help PSV maintain a concise alignment for both content strategy and branding
